USA 2

Cracker Barrel

I went for a southern breakfast now the 1st thing you will see is there is
an old country store that sells retro chocolate bars to wooded rocking chairs
and just about any thing else you can think of.

I just tried the sky bar as I was sitting here waiting for my pictures to load up and
I wish I had some more now.
So I needed a big breakfast that day and I got more than I bargained for.....
I had the the Cracker Barrel Country Boy Breakfast  Pork Chops
or Steak grilled to order, Three Eggs cooked to order served with Fried Apples,
Hashbrown Casserole, Grits, Sawmill Gravy and Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits
along with real Butter and the best Preserves, Jam n' Apple Butter available.

Steak grilled

Sawmill Gravy and Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits

Pork Chops

Apple Butter is a must try I and not a big fan of jam and preservetives but I loved
this it just like butter flavoured with apple.
Sawmill Gravy and Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits now the biscuits are what we
would know as scones without the fruit the sawmill gravy is not like the ahhhh
bisto it is taking the fat or dripping from the meat and mixing it with a roux
and thats what it is so if your someone who like dripping on toast then
you will like this.
Grits now what are grits well its like polenta or porridge there ok I
like them when I mix the apple butter in to it.

Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast Two Eggs cooked to order with Grits, Sawmill Gravy and Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits along with real Butter and the best Preserves, Jam n' Apple Butter available. Served with your choice of Fried Apples or Hashbrown Casserole and Chicken Fried Chicken or Country Fried Steak.
and sweet potato pancakes on the side for us to try and I got to say there awsome

U.S.A

I was in New York last week for a friends wedding so
congratulations to Frank and Jennifer.

So the 1st thing I wanted to try in the USA was a Diner for the pancake and bacon with syrup

Pancake and bacon

Tex breakfast warp

Conrbeef hash egg and potatoe

In the Tex warp was egg, fried potatoe, chorizo and chicken with tomato salsa and I
got to say wow thats a breakfast. The conrbeef hash was out of this world if you
had too much to drink the night befor I think it as they say over there
winner winner chicken dinner or as we say here it's lubly jubly.
Now the pancake and bacon I've got to sayI wanted to try this and no
that is not a ball of ice cream but butter as I thought
when it came out but I've got to say it works the sweet and salt the crispy bacon
and fluffy pancakes you can't help but eat it all.

I got more to put up but will in my own time.

Healthy avocado drink

Here is a easy and healthy drink to make
all you need is
2 Avocado
1pt milk
5 tps honey
just put all in to a liquidizer and mix
and if you want it to be more sweeter
just put more honey and if not so sweet less
honey and in the summer time try freezing
the milk for a healthy milkshake.

Gay Hussar in soho

This week I wanted to try some Hungarian food so I ask my Hungarian friend
where is good to go in London and he said try the Gay Hussar as it has got a
good review  even though he has never been there so off I went.

for starter
Gulyásleves - Beef Goulash Soup

Hortobagyi Husos Palacsinta - Chicken Pancake

for mains
Özpörkölt - Venison Goulash with Tarhonya and Red Cabbage
Borjúpörkölt Galuskával - Veal Goulash with Galuska

Well the food was ok but not what I was expecting when i think of Hungarian food
it's great peasant food with big cuts of rustic bread not for it to try and be posh
nosh. It is a great restruant but my opinion is it's the king's pyjamas story
as in people want to eat there as a lot of mp's eat there.
So in all it is a good restruant but not what I am looking for.

Butcher shops

I like this butcher the guys who work here do
know there stuff and can get you just about
any meat  you want. The shop inside look like
the one my mum used to use when I was a kid
and its got a big wood chopping block in the
middle that give it that old fashion look about it.
When you go inside you get a smell of mouth
watering chicken that is ready to eat and comes
in some scrumy flavours.
I have tried alot of the meat from here and
never be disappointed and their veal is one of the
best in London.

72 Watling Street, London - Butchers near Mansion House

The next butcher is the barbecoa which is Jamie Oliver
and Adam Perry Lang a bit like marmite you either
love Jamie or hate him but this butcher is fabulous.
When you walk in you get the smell of hung meat
which you don't get in a lot of butcher these days
and that nice dark red colour on the meat. you can
see all the meat hanging in the back of the shop
showing you that it is a traditional butcher.

Woo Jung (Korean restaurant)

I love this korean restaurant its small and quirky seats about 30 to 40 I would say. The
food is simple with great combination of flavours. It's about £25 to £30 if there are two of
you eating there. the waiters are friendly and helpful.

When you sit down you get assortment of pickles and spicey jelly

Dubu kimchi bokeum                                                         Yukwhe Dolsos
(Fried kimchi with bean curd)                                         (Raw beef  raw yolk
vgetables in a hot stone pot)

Gimchi jeongongol
(pork, tofu noodle and kimchi casserle)

The Yukwhe dolsos come in a hot stone pot so
the sides of the rice become crispy you pour
some spicey sauce in to it and mix it up.

With the Gimchi jeongol you get a gas ring put on your table
with a pot of raw ingredients in it and you see it cooked as you wait
They do a special menu for after 10pm which is Korean alcohol and hot nibbles
I will go back a try this.
you can find them at Woo Jung Restaurant. 59 St Giles High Street (off Charing Cross Road), London, WC2H 8LH
